Dear Citizen,

As your Representative for House District 11, I will uphold the values of those that I have been elected to serve.  There is nothing more important to me than having your trust.  Constituent service is vitally important and I will always make time to hear your concern and if possible, resolve problems.  I value the concerns of all the citizens in the 11th District and will give equal consideration to the views of everyone.

During the 2011 session, the Republican party was able to assume the majority in both the House and the Senate for the first time in over 140 years.

The state faced over a $2.5 Billion shortfall for the budget in 2011, and by prioritizing and making some tough choices, the new majority balanced the budget, it was possible to accomplish this and abolish the 1% temporary sales tax and the income tax surcharge.

Promises that were made during the election campaign were kept and the state should be fiscally sound for 2012 with only minor adjustments to the budget.

I am proud to be a member of a political party where you are able to exercise the courage of your convictions when taking a vote.  I have witnessed many times members of the opposing party, ducking a vote (walking of the house floor) because they did not feel they could vote with their caucus.

We sill have many tough issues, most importantly creating jobs and getting the economy moving, and I will actively work with economic developers to improve infrastructure and develop our ports.

I truly feel that there is nothing we can do that will add more to our region than being prepared for the large container ships once the Panama Canal project is completed.  It is a great honor to serve the people of my district and I always welcome your input.  I truly strive to be what the title of my office indicates (a representative), for that reason I encourage you to share your views of the issues.  Please be assured that I will always listen.
